DAN bolsters Queensland operations with Chris Ernst appointment

Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) Australia and New Zealand has Chris Ernst as managing director, DAN Queensland.

Ernst joins the group in the newly created role from Media Merchants where he held a commercial director position, when he joined in March this year in a contractor capacity.

Prior to that he held a series of senior leadership positions at Ikon Communications, where he had headed up its successful Brisbane office and IPG Mediabrands, working with with leading clients including Bunnings, Target, Flight Centre, ING and Coca Cola.

“Chris is an outstanding commercial operator and team leader, with a proven track record for developing client, employee and stakeholder relationships," DAN CEO Henry Tajer says.

"He’s the perfect person for this critical leadership role and will take the Queensland business from strength to strength.”

As managing director, DAN QLD, Ernst will be responsible for the commercial growth and integration of the market as well as showcasing DAN’s capabilities and offering.

His appointment is the latest in a long run of executive changes that have occured at DAN since Tajer's appointment as CEO earlier this year.

While there have been a slew of redundancies within the holding group, executives including Sue SquillaceDaniel IsaacAshley Earnshaw and Patrick Darcy have all taking on new leadership roles across DAN's core media agencies.

Other executives including Angela TangasMichael Bass and Sam Hegg have also taken new positions within the business.
