Movers & Shakers: Gyro, TBWA, PeriscoPe, The Media Store, CHE Proximity

It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out the biggest moves in adland this week.

Dentsu's Gyro ups Australian investment
Gyro, Dentsu's global creative B2B agency has appointed Jessie Jordan and Simon Rich as Australian creative director and director of strategy, respectively. The pair bring a wealth of knowledge and experience in the B2B marketing sector and will be responsible for driving gyro’s creative presence in Australia. With more than 16 years’ experience in the advertising industry, Jordan has worked for a variety of award-winning agencies and clients, including Coke, Visa, Smiths and Microsoft. Rich also brings in-depth experience with him, having built brands and delivered strategic marketing for over 20 years with leading B2B brands, such as QBE, RBS, HSBC and AXA.

The Media Store ads to its senior leadership team

Independent media agency The Media Store appointed Minsun Collier as Head Digital Officer. Collier was recently leading the Woolworths business at Dentsu and Carat, and was General Manager at Neo @ Ogilvy Australia, and at OMD was Head of Digital. Tom Charles has been appointed to support Minsun as Performance Media Director. He was reviously at MediaCom on the Carnival Australia account. Paul Wilkinson also joins The Media Store as National Head of Investment. He had a 10 year career with Carat, both in the UK and Australia, and three years with Amplifi as Head of Investment and later National Head of Strategic Value. Stephen Benrad has been appointed National Commercial Director. He has 12 years agency-side work plus six years at Jetstar and Heinz. 

CHE Proximity hires former BMF strategy boss David Warren

David Warren, CHE Proximity's new director of brand, has 17 years of planning experience working at agencies including DDB London, TBWA, Saatchi & Saatchi and most recently BMF Sydney.

Seven appoints Charlotte Valente CMO

Charlotte Valente was appointed to the newly created role of chief marketing officer at Seven. Valente, who had most recently been working as a general manager with Big Red Group, previously worked with Seven CEO James Warburton during his time as the CEO of APN Outdoor.

Uber appoints Lucinda Barlow to lead APAC Marketing

Lucinda Barlow is UBer's new senior director of marketing APAC. The former global marketing director for YouTube brings over 20 years experience in internet, technology and mobile business across Asia, the US and UK.

PeriscoPe expands team

Ecommerce consultancy PeriscoPe has added SEO director, strategist and practitioner Paul Martin into its expanding team of ecommerce professionals. Martin joins PeriscoPe after a decade-long tenure at Epiphany Digital/Jaywing, where he led digital projects and established its APAC operations. He has experience across large consumer retail brands and multi-brand businesses including General Pants, L’Occitane and TopShop as well as Australian brands such as Budget Direct and Tatts. 

TBWA\Group NZ has a new CEO
TBWA has promoted Catherine Harris to CEO of TBWA\Group New Zealand. Harris joined TBWA\Group New Zealand two years ago and has led a resurgence across the agency attracting key talent, delivering growth and the expansion of capabilities. Prior to joining TBWA\Group New Zealand, Harris worked for 15 years abroad including TBWA\London, Havas Sydney and Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney.
