AdNews wraps up the biggest pitch news and wins from the last fortnight.

Spotify pitching its $240m global media account

Audio streaming platform Spotify is shopping around for a global media agency, AdNews confirmed.

Spotify's last pitch was in 2017 which saw IPG's UM win the media buying and planning services globally.

However, the brand is planning to part ways with its agency of six years and Publicis is in the running for the business, according to a report by Business Insider.

Defence Force Recruitment to pitch $10m creative account

The Department of Defence is preparing to pitch its creative and digital account said to be worth at least $10m in revenue, AdNews revealed. 

In a tender notice to market, applications will open February 2024 to fulfill the current arrangement that expires in March 2025. 

The account last went to pitch in 2018 which saw VMLY&R regain the account, after losing it to Havas Host in 2013.

Online Education Services $20m media pitch down to three

E-learning provider Online Education Services (OES) has shortlisted three agencies for its $20 million media pitch, AdNews revealed.

The shortlist includes incumbent Mediabrands, Havas Media and one other, AdNews understands.

Honda to pitch media 

Japanese automaker Honda is looking for a new media agency, AdNews confirms.

Incumbent Zenith Media has decided not to repitch for the account after holding it since 2001.

“We would like to thank the Honda Australia team for a successful 17-year partnership," Jason Tonelli, Zenith CEO, said.

"Honda is a fantastic brand, and it has been a pleasure to work with the business and help with its transformation over such a long period of time.”

M&C Saatchi lands Dare Iced Coffee creative account

M&C Saatchi has secured the creative account for Australian milk based beverage brand Dare Iced Coffee.

Independent creative agency Hardhat is the incumbent. 

The agency is looking forward to building on the well-established brand platform of ‘Mental Clarity’ while adding fresh layers of innovation and creativity.

The Media Store wins ZircoDATA pitch

Independent media agency The Media Store has secured the search engine marketing (SEM) account for ZircoDATA, following a competitive pitch.

The account is the first standalone performance win for The Media Store, which manages its other clients’ search accounts within a broader cross-channel mix.

Assembled Media wins Golf Australia pitch

Data-led media agency Assembled Media has secured a win with Golf Australia.

Assembled Media’s services were acquired after a competitive round of pitching against two contending agencies. The organisation has committed to a long-term partnership with Assembled Media that is set to continue for the next three years.

Future Super appoints Jaywing for paid media

Future Super has appointed data, creative and performance marketing agency Jaywing to lead its paid media and drive new members to the ethical superannuation fund.

Jaywing will oversee Future Super’s Google and Meta paid media strategy and execution.

SPC appoints AttentionMedia digital agency for capital raise

Australian-based global agribusiness SPC Global has appointed AttentionMedia, an independent agency based in Victoria, to help with the company's capital raise.

The company, whose products include Goulburn Valley fruit, is looking for $20 million from local investors to help with expansion.

Hatched wins GPT pitch

Hatched has been appointed by ASX-listed Australian property company The GPT Group following a competitive pitch.

GPT manages a $32 billion portfolio of assets including 11 shopping centres across Australia such as Melbourne Central, Pacific Fair and Rouse Hill Town Centre.

27 Degrees Media wins Tyreright pitch

New-generation media agency 27 Degrees Media has been appointed to manage digital media for national tyre retailer Tyreright.

27 Degrees Media will be responsible for all digital media strategy, planning and buying, along with influencer campaigns, EDM and SEO for Tyreright. 

Motto appointed Australia ad sales rep for TVNZ

Television New Zealand (TVNZ) has appointed Motto as its advertising sales representative in Australia, following a competitive pitch process, from January.

Customedia wins Norwegian Cruise Line pitch

Independent media agency Customedia has won the paid media account of Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) after a competitive tender for the Asia-Pacific region.
