Movers & Shakers: Rubicon Project, The Monkeys and Think TV

Rubicon Project appoints Australia boss

Rubicon Project has appointed Simone Krakowiak to lead its Australia and New Zealand operations, filling a spot that has been open for almost a year. She replaces Adele Hanzlicek, who left in December. International MD Jay Stevens also left in March. Formerly sales and development manager at mobile video exchange Vdopia, Krakowiak's background is in mobile video and she has a strong network across trading desks, DSPs, SSPs and tech and mobile vendors. Ben Coulson exits Y&R, replaced by McWhopper's Josh Moore

Chief creative officer Ben Coulson will exit Y&R after six years at the agency. He is to be replaced by Y&R New Zealand CEO Josh Moore at the end of the year. In his time at Y&R Coulson won a flood of awards across the industry. Prior to his promotion as regional COO he led GPY&R Melbourne for four years. Moore is renowned for his award-winning work on the McWhopper campaign. He took over the helm of the media and creative agency Y&R NZ in 2011 and will continue his role as CEO as well as absorbing Coulson's position. Read more here.

OMD appoints Kenny Stewart as Group MD of Brisbane and WA

OMD has appointed Kenny Stewart as group managing director of OMD Brisbane and OMD WA. Stewart was chief executive of Dentsu Mitchell and Vizeum ANZ until March, when he left the network following a leadership restructure. Stewart brings more than 25 years of global experience in media, marketing and advertising and has held senior leadership positions at Mitchell & Partners, Starcom Mediavest Group, Clemenger Group and Wunderman. Marina Go exits Bauer after two years

Marina Go, general manager of Bauer’s Hearst brands, will exit the business after two years in the position. Go will take up a board position with automotive retailer Autosports Group ahead of its initial public offering next month, in addition to continuing her existing roles as chair of West Tigers. In her role at Bauer, Go oversaw magazine brands Elle Australia, Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan. Read more here.

Rutherford resurfaces at The Monkeys

Grant Rutherford, former chief creative officer of Publicis Mojo, has resurfaced at The Monkeys. Rutherford exited the Publicis agency a year ago and has been working on a number of freelance projects since then, including some with The Monkeys. He had been with the agency for two years, and prior to that had set up a blood cancer charity called The Snowdome Foundation. Read more here.

Carat NZ promotes Alex Lawson to general manager

Alex Lawson has been promoted to general manager of Carat NZ only months after joining the business as group business director. Lawson has more than 15 years of experience in media and advertising, having held roles with ZenithOptimedia, APN News & Media, Mediaedge, MEC and MediaCom London. Lawson's promotion comes a week after Paul Brooks was named Carat Australia CEO and Dentsu Aegis Network ANZ CEO Simon Ryan told AdNews the shape of the group's leadership team was nearing completion. Read more here.

Think TV hires former Reckitt Benckiser top marketer

Former Reckitt Benckinser marketer Rowena Newman has been named head of marketing of the research-driven, marketing and technology development company, Think TV. Newman was most recently head of media at Reckitt Benckiser for six years and within the company for 10. She has held senior marketing roles at Boots Healthcare, GlaxoSmithKline and Unilever, working across brands such as Stepsils, Lynx, Rexona and Nurofen. Newman will report to CEO Kim Portrate, who has been in the position since June. Read more here.

Kerry McCabe promoted to RadiumOne global president

Kerry McCabe has been promoted global president of RadiumOne. McCabe has been RadiumOne's managing director of Asia Pacific since November 2013 and there are no plans to replace him at this stage. The move follows the announcement that Adam Furness would take on the role of managing director ANZ – a new position for the Australian arm of the business. Prior to joining RadiumOne in 2013, McCabe held roles at Microsoft and Integral Dynamics. The promotion does not affect McCabe's role as chair of the media and advertising industry charity UnLtd, which he founded in 2007.

Carat names sponsorship and integrations lead

Leontine De Sutter has been appointed head of Carat Connect Sydney, the agency's sponsorship and integration division. De Sutter joins from Ensemble, where she was senior brand partnerships director. De Sutter, who has previosuly worked at ZenithOptimedia in London and MediaCom, will report to chief investment officer Ashley Earnshaw. Carat Conect works across a number of cients, including Woolworths, Stayz, Pinnacle and GM Holden.
