OMD has appointed Kenny Stewart as group managing director of OMD Brisbane and OMD WA. Stewart was chief executive of Dentsu Mitchell and Vizeum ANZ until March, when he left the network following a leadership restructure.
Stewart brings more than 25 years of global experience in media, marketing and advertising and has held senior leadership positions at Mitchell & Partners, Starcom Mediavest Group, Clemenger Group and Wunderman.
In his new role, which officially begins in November, he will be responsible for delivering growth in the Brisbane and Perth offices.
Stewart will also work with local managing directors Rob Swinton and Angela Nutton to build OMD's product suite through greater connectivity with strategic business unit hubs and an increased on-ground specialist resource.
Peter Horgan, the chief executive of OMD Australia and Omnicom Media Group ANZ, says Stewart brings "a wealth of industry knowledge, business acumen and proven leadership skills".
“We are delighted to be welcoming Kenny, he is a respected, experienced industry senior executive who has built successful businesses in both markets," he adds.
Stewart adds: ”It’s especially exciting to be joining an organisation with strong, stable leadership and a huge emphasis on a values based culture - all crucial ingredients in building and evolving a successful agency business. I’m really looking forward to working with the teams in Queensland and WA and to building on our success with, and for, our clients.”
Stewart will join the OMD executive team and be based in Brisbane.
