It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Natalie Harvey CEO of Mamamia

Mamamia has appointed Natalie Harvey CEO. Harvey, who moved from Seven in January to become Mamamia's chief revenue officer, will start as chief executive June 1. She takes over from co-founder Jason Lavigne, who shifts to the role of executive chair. Harvey began her career at Seven as the office assistant to the CEO, later transitioning to the agency side with Mediacom. Her career then took her to Brisbane, where she became general manager at UM.

Adrián Flores returns to Australia as Clemenger's chief creative officer

Clemenger BBDO has appointed Adrián Flores chief creative officer. He returns to Australia after more than a decade at agencies including Publicis New York and London, FCB New York, Marcel New York, and VaynerMedia. He joins from New York-based Robot, the brand consultancy arm of The SpringHill Company, a consumer and entertainment group co-founded by basketball legend LeBron James and his business partner Mav Carter.

Love Media appoints Alana Dowling client director

Love Media has appointed Alana Dowling client director. Dowling brings to Love Media nearly two decades of experience in the media industry, with skills in media investment and marketing strategy. She was most recently at Orion Worldwide as investment, marketing, and L&D director. Prior to that, she held roles at Magna Global, Carat, and Initiative, leading numerous campaigns and fostering strong client relationships.

Sam Davies becomes MD of kwpx Adelaide

Kwpx Adelaide has named Sam Davies as MD after he joined the agency through the merger of his agency Digital Noir (DN) in 2021. Since integrating DN into kwpx, Davis has led both the digital and advertising divisions as the executive director of brand and digital. The promotion also coincides with the appointment of Sam Talbot as the new head of advertising.

Shaun Menegola resigns from Seven Melbourne

Shaun Menegola has resigned as director of news for Seven Melbourne. His departure date has not yet been finalised and he will remain in his role for a transition period. Seven have said that Menegola’s successor will be announced in due course. He joined Seven in January 2019 after five years as director of news for Nine Perth. Before that, he worked as director of news for Seven Perth for close to 11 years.

Houston hires creative director and design director

Alex Creamer has been named creative director and Michelle Teh has been appointed design director at brand strategy and design consultancy Houston. Most recently creative director at Interbrand and prior to that at RE, Creamer has worked on brands including McDonalds, Sydney Fish Market, Optus, Westpac, Federation Square and NextSense. Teh brings more than 14 years industry experience garnered from roles in London, Amsterdam and Sydney, most recently working at Nike Brand Creative’s European headquarters.

Amazon's Marc Lomas to lead retail media at GroupM

GroupM has appointed Marc Lomas managing director of its commerce capability, a key investment area for the media agency group. He will lead and expand the commerce and retail media business in Australia and New Zealand, supporting EssenceMediacom, Mindshare and Wavemaker teams. Lomas has 20 plus years experience working with blue-chip brands developing performance marketing and adtech capability in Australia, the UK and the US. 

Ideally appoints Maura Halpin senior marketing lead

Customer Insights Platform Ideally has appointed Maura Halpin to the newly created role of marketing lead, effective immediately. Reporting directly to co-founder & CRO Joshua Nu'u-Steele, Halpin’s immediate remit will be to develop and implement Ideally’s overarching marketing strategy, championing a data-driven approach to marketing performance. Her role has global responsibilities.

Jonathan Lyon joins PrettyGood as co-founder

Brand and media business PrettyGood has appointed global advertising and marketing specialist Jonathan Lyon as co-founder and chief product officer. Lyon brings more than 25 years of marketing leadership experience having held senior roles at OMD New Zealand, Digitas NYC, TEDx Auckland, and Wunderman in London where he drove strategies centered on human insights at scale.
