Amazon's Marc Lomas to lead retail media at GroupM

GroupM has appointed Marc Lomas managing director of its commerce capability, a key investment area for the media agency group.  

He will lead and expand the commerce and retail media business in Australia and New Zealand, supporting EssenceMediacom, Mindshare and Wavemaker teams. 

Lomas has 20 plus years experience working with blue-chip brands developing performance marketing and adtech capability in Australia, the UK and the US. 

Most recently he spent seven years at Amazon Ads, as global head of performance for Amazon DSP out of New York, and as head of agency sales in Australia. 

Before that he was at IPG Mediabrands leading programmatic and performance businesses including Cadreon/Matterkind.

Lomas is taking on the role after working with GroupM as a consultant. He will now join the GroupM executive committee reporting to CEO Aimee Buchanan 

GroupM is also looking to further expand the commerce capability with the creation of several specialist roles.
