Clever Buoy wins again

The collaboration between Optus and M&C Saatchi, Clever Buoy, the world-first shark detection buoy has won the coveted ‘Internet of Things’ gong at the South By South West Innovation Awards in Austin overnight. This is not Clever Buoy's first gong, it has also won the Spikes Asia Innovation Grand Prix, the LIA Most Innovative Use of Digital, the IAB Mixx Special Gold Innovation gong and the Warc Prize for Innovation Grand Prix.

McCallum heads to MediaCom

MediaCom has pinched Ben McCallum from ZenithOptimedia, with McCallum to become MediaCom's group director in activation and investment for its entertainment division team. McCallum has over 11 years of industry experience in Australia and the UK, including work for brands such as Toyota, Lexus, Qantas, Bristish Airways, Cartier, Heineken, Bacardi, and 20th Century Fox. McCallum's tenure will begin on April 21, reporting to chief investment officer Nicole Turley.

Dalgleish joins Asia Pacific Digital board

Former C4 Communications CEO, Mark Dalgleish, will join the Asia Pacific Digital board in July, bringing 25 years’ international experience in building profitable digital media and marketing businesses to APD. Dalgleish has made a significant investment in APD through his participation in this month’s capital raising, announced to the Australian Stock Exchange on 16 March.

Leo Burnett Melbourne and Clemenger BBDO Sydney win big at AME Awards

Leo Burnett Melbourne and Clemenger BBDO Sydney are among international winners at the 2015 AME Awards. Leo Burnett Melbourne won a gold medallion and a silver medallion for its Slurpee Xpandinator and a gold for its #SPCSunday campaign. Clemenger BBDO Sydney took home one silver and three bronze for its Tourism Australia and Virgin Australia's 'Turning "some day" into today" campaign.

Deepend MD joins SoDA Board

Managing director of digital communications and innovation consultancy Deepend, Kath Blackham, has been appointed to the SoDA Digital Society board of directors. Greatly increasing Australia’s representation within the SoDA board, Blackham has been appointed to this prestigious position as one of only nine board members, with her position lasting for the next 3 year term.

AANA's Marketing Dividends wins top award

AANA's Marketing Dividends program has won the top award at the World Federation of Advertisers' (WFA) Global Market Week, taking home the President's Award for "Outstanding Leadership in the Marketing Industry". The TV series is a joint initiative between the AANA and MEC Global and is designed to elevate the marketing profession.
