PHD Australia has won AFL's $15 million media account, following a competitive pitch.

The agency is now responsible for all AFL activities and campaigns, which will be led by PHD group director Kathryn Weatherlake.

The account was previously held by Dentsu Aegis Network's (DAN) Vizeum.

It's a blow for Vizeum, which had a leadership shake-up last year. However it did win the media account for MYOB earlier this year.

Following a shaky 2018, DAN announced its new CEO Henry Tajer today.

“The AFL is an iconic Australian brand and offers the opportunity to do game-changing work,” Weatherlake said.

AFL head of audiences for product and innovation David Stevenson said PHD was selected to help the business reach its long-term goals.

“We look forward to working with PHD and its approach should prove a great fit for the AFL,” Stevenson said.

AFL also switched agencies for its creative account last year, moving it to Clemenger Melbourne after four years with Cummins&Partners.
