It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Bastion's new head of brand marketing is Alexandra O’Neil

Integrated agency Bastion has appointed Alexandra O’Neil head of brand marketing based in Sydney. O’Neil will be responsible for all marketing communications for the Australian and New Zealand markets, driving brand strategy and business growth alongside Bastion's executive team. She is the former group marketing manager for venue group Solotel.

R/GA appoints Ben Miles chief design officer APAC

Creative innovation studio R/GA has promoted Ben Miles to the newly created role of chief design officer, APAC. Previously VP, ECD of brand design for APAC, Miles will help shape brands across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, including Telstra, Westpac, Powerhouse Museum and City of Sydney, Google and Nike.

Lee Liversedge joins Enigma

Full-service independent agency Enigma has named Lee Liversedge creative director for its brand and property and place divisions. Liversedge brings more than 25 years’ creative agency experience to the Enigma team, having established his own agencies and worked in leadership roles for global agencies Ogilvy and Imagination.

News Corp appoints Ian Paterson to NSW sales leadership role

News Corp Australia has appointed Ian Paterson to lead its New South Wales sales team as general manager, advertising sales, NSW. Paterson will shape the NSW sales strategy and will report to managing director, national advertising sales, Lou Barrett. He will relocate to Sydney and start in October. 

Scott Lorson steps down as Fetch TV CEO after 15 years

Scott Lorson is stepping down as CEO of subscription television service Fetch TV after 15 years. Dominic Arena, currently a director of Fetch TV, will become CEO role from July 1. Lorsen will remain at Fetch as an adviser until January 2025. He brings close to 30 years’ industry experience to the role, most recently as an executive director with Telstra.

News Corp redundancies move to the sales team

News Corp Australia has rolled out its next set of redundancies, this time targeting less senior level sales roles. Up to 80 of the media company's sales roles are going, the sources say. News Corp had no comment. The cuts come in an advertising downturn and form part of the company's biggest restructure in a decade, with long serving senior managers cut earlier this month.

Bread Agency appoints six

Social media agency Bread has appointed six new bread makers to the existing team of three, hiring Werner Coetzee, Talya Kaplan, Maayke Louwerens, Katie Moon, Carla Woodhouse and Scarlett Govey.

Bega's Bridie Cowell appointed Coles 360 head of partnerships

Coles 360 has appointed Bridie Cowell, the former Bega GM of retail marketing & eCommerce, head of partnerships. She replaces Tom Small who is moving into a chief commercial officer role at Retail Media Works. Cowell joins Redworks Media, a part of the Coles 360 team working with Coles suppliers.

Keiran Beasley to lead SBS national agency sales team

Keiran Beasley has been promoted to national TV and digital sales manager at SBS. He replaces Andrew Mudgway, who resigned from SBS after his role as national TV and digital sales manager was moved back to Sydney from Melbourne. Beasley first joined SBS in late 2012 as national brand partnerships manager. Since then, he has served as acting group head of marketing and most recently as NSW executive manager for SBS Media.

Matt Frost joins Quantcast as sales manager in Brisbane

Adtech Quantcast has named Matt Frost as sales manager in Brisbane. Frost has previously held senior sales roles at Nine, NOVA Entertainment, GoTransit Media Group, UM Worldwide and JCDecaux.

Chris Hackney and Bryan Law join Meltwater

Meltwater, a company specialising in social and media intelligence and data analytics, has appointed Chris Hackney as chief product officer to lead Meltwater’s product organisation and spearhead the strategic direction, expansion and operation of the company’s product portfolio. Bryan Law has also joined as a member of the Meltwater board of directors.
