Appliance manufacturing company Fisher & Paykel is testing the water by calling a pitch for its media buying account.

The Auckland-headquartered business, which currently sits with OMD Australia, is in the market talking to other agencies. It is unclear if OMD is involved in the pitch.

An Fisher & Paykel Appliances spokesperson confirmed that the business is undertaking a media agency review in Australia.

“This is part of an ongoing programme to regularly review all of our major spend categories,” the spokesperson said.

“This is very much business as usual for us to ensure we understand the market, current trends, technology and services.”
The account is thought to be worth up to $5million.

Originally an importer of domestic refrigerators, the company's heritage dates back to the 1930s.
