Former Telstra CMO Mark Buckman has surfaced as chief strategy officer of Accenture in London.

Buckman, who left Telstra suddenly a year ago to move to London, was replaced by Joe Pollard.

At Accenture, Buckman will lead strategy across the EALA region which includes Europe.

Consulting firms such as Accenture and Deloitte are increasingly moving into the digital, advertising and media space as the sands of the market shift. Accenture acquired creative studio Chaotic Moon last month which will sit alongside Fjord, the design and innovation arm of Accenture Interactive.

Agencies have previously told AdNews that the encroachment of consulting firms onto their turf is not a concern, but digital agencies in particular are coming up against the likes of Deloitte Digital and Accenture Interactive in pitches for digital project work more and more.
