Volkswagen Tiguan gets extraterrestrial attention in latest campaign.
Volkswagen has launched a nationwide campaign for the Tiguan SUV which highlights the vehicle's innovation and technology.
The campaign, developed by DDB Sydney, showcases the Tiguan as the most technologically-advanced SUV to date.
It sees a man offering himself as an alien sacrifice, only to find his car taken by the UFO instead.
Volkswagen GM of marketing Ben Wilks says the Tiguan is a leader in a 'cluttered' SUV category and DDB's brief was to show “the Tiguan, and the technology in it, is extremely desirable.”
Volkswagen and DDB Sydney worked with production company Scoundrel to make the ad.
DDB chief creative officer Ben Welsh says it was the kind of brief any creative would love, and the final product doesn't shy away from being a car ad.
“We're delighted with, and very proud of the finished work – it's exciting dramatic and has a funny twist. The car is so integral to the story, it's effortless,” Welsh says.
The campaign features a 60-second and 30-second spot and will roll out across outdoor and a range of digital media.
