Volkswagen Australia invested $55 million in advertising in 2012, according to Nielsen, although it says Volkswagen's are better experienced, than explained and it doesn't like to make “outrageous claims” about its cars. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the German parent company Volkswagen AG.
