Woolworth's Australia and New Zealand is pitching for a lead creative agency, AdNews can reveal.
The incumbent is M+C Saatchi, which has held the account since 2017.
M+C Saatchi has declined to contest the account, AdNews understands.
“We have commenced an RFP process for a lead creative agency partner for Woolworths Australia and New Zealand," a Woolworths spokesperson told AdNews.
"We continue to work with our existing partners throughout this process.”
According to Nielsen, Woolworths is in the top 10 in Australia when it comes to advertising budgets.
TBWA\ will continue to be the creative agency for Everyday Rewards.
Woolworths established its bespoke model, Greenhouse, six years ago with M+C Saatchi as a founding partner. It’s powered by a collective of partner agencies and Woolworths’ internal creative, design, experience, and production capabilities.
M+C Saatchi reported a sharp fall in both revenue and profits in the year to December with the Australian business an outsized black spot on the global business.
Australia ended the year in a 31.9% hole. Without Australia, global revenue would have been down just 3.1%.
Other M+C Saatchi clients, including CommBank and Australian Retirement Trust, have also gone to review in the last year.
M+C Saatchi has been contacted to comment.
