GroupM agency Wavemaker Australia has appointed Zeb Allan as Melbourne investment director.

Allan is charged with executing the agency’s trading and investment strategy in the Melbourne office.

He will report to Wavemaker Australia national head of investment Philippa Noilea-Tani.

"Zeb has excellent technical investment skills and strong media vendor relationships in the Melbourne market," Noilea-Tani says.

"He’s also dedicated to leading teams that are highly aligned and providing mentoring and support to his colleagues. For all of these reasons and more, he will be a valuable leader who will help us continue to futureproof Wavemaker’s innovative investment approach."

Allan joins Wavemaker from GroupM sister agency MediaCom Melbourne where he was marketplace director of operations.

He has previously worked at Mindshare and UM as well.

Allan has also been an active mentor in previous roles, including providing one-on-one training and ongoing support to younger team members.

“The team at Wavemaker is passionate and focused on finding innovative ways to best optimise our clients’ media investments and I’m delighted to be part of that. I can’t wait to get started," Allan says.

Noilea-Tani was promoted to national head of investment earlier this year, taking over from Claire Butterworth who moved to MediaCom to take on the chief investment officer role.

Noilea-Tani has been with the agency since 2005, working as a media assistant for former business MEC, working her way up to Sydney trading director before her promotion.

Internationally, Wavemaker appointed Toby Jenner as global CEO in July, charged with leading Wavemaker’s 8,600 employees who manage $13 billion in billings (COMvergence) for blue-chip clients in 90 countries.

Wavemaker Australia has had a number of major client wins this year including the Australian Post media account, the reappointment to the South Australian Government media panel and the media account for ride-sharing platform and Uber competitor, Ola.
