UM, MediaCom and OMD on alert after Sony calls global media pitch

UM, MediaCom, and OMD are on alert as Sony has confirmed a global media review, but it is unclear whether there will be a local component to the pitch.

UM is both the global and local agency for Sony Pictures.

Meanwhile MediaCom does work for Sony's Xperia and OMD does work on Sony's Playstation account.

Local sources confirmed to AdNews that Sony was working on a global media pitch, however none of the local agencies nor Sony were available to comment at the time of writing. 

At this early stage, there is no word on whether the local incumbents will face a local pitch or whether the global review will be led by the North American market with agencies to be awarded globally on the back of that. 

The global pitches adds to a spate of recent pitches origination from the US market in recent times, with 21st Century Fox confirming a media pitch, putting incumbent ZenithOptimedia on alert.
