Richards Rose has picked up the creative accounts for global steel manufacturer BlueScope Steel and its sub-brand Colorbond, AdNews understands.

Colorbond had been working with Sydney marketing communications agency Carlon Leong since 2013.

Last year, Colorbond celebrated its 50th anniversary with a TV campaign, departing from its previous lighthearted humour-based approach to celebrate the brand.

Colorbond is best known for its "You've made the right choice" work that featured a man admiring his roof in his underwear.

BlueScope Steel launched in 1966 and has operations in Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, North America, and Asia. It was demerged from BHP Billiton in 2002 as BHP Steel and renamed BlueScope Steel in 2003.

Since splitting from AJF Partnerships in 2016, Richards Rose has launched brand campaigns for HelgaMitsubishi and Rams.

Richards Rose declined to comment.
