Pitch Wrap: Foxtel, NAB, Facebook

By AdNews | 29 July 2021

It’s hard to keep track of the account wins and losses across the industry. To help you keep on top of who has what, here’s a wrap of the pitches from the week.

NAB
NAB has appointed TBWA Melbourne as its creative agency of record, ending a 14-year-plus relationship with incumbent and fellow Omnicom agency Clemenger BBDO Melbourne. TBWA will join NAB's existing agency panel. NAB executive group marketing Suzana Ristevski says choosing TBWA was a "collaborative and considered decision that we believe sets us up well for the future".

Facebook
WPP's media agency GroupM has decided to withdraw from Facebook’s global media review. Facebook put its creative and media accounts into review earlier this year. GroupM's Mindshare has been handling most of Facebook's media bookings for the past seven years. Dentsu also has part of the business. The reason for the withdrawal isn't known. One report suggested Facebook may be asking for new contractual terms around liability in the ad buying process.

MyDeal
Ryvalmedia has been appointed as SEM and performance media agency partner for ecommerce retail platform MyDeal.com.au after a competitive agency review. Ryvalmedia's remit includes SEM, digital media performance strategy, planning, trading, and implementation, with scope for data, technology, and analytics project work. Work commences on the account in July.

Foxtel
Foxtel has handed Herd MSL its PR contract, following a competitive pitch. As part of its appointment, Herd MSL will support Foxtel’s PR and content communications team. As its first project, Herd MSL has been tasked with launching the final season of prison-drama Wentworth.

Journey Beyond
Journey Beyond has appointed Town Square as its new brand agency across its full suite of brands after a competitive by invitation pitch involving three agencies. The appointment takes effect this month. Journey Beyond is a national business focused on bringing Australia’s unique and iconic experiences to life through a portfolio of 13 brands, including The Ghan, Indian Pacific, Sal Salis, Ningaloo Reef, and the Eureka Skydeck. Town Square is appointed as Journey Beyond emerges from one of the most challenging periods the travel industry has seen, to help guide them through this everchanging market with bold growth and positioning plans.
