It’s hard to keep track of the account wins and losses across the industry. To help you keep on top of who has what, here’s a wrap of the pitches from the week.

Coca-Cola South Pacific
Coca-Cola South Pacific has retained IPG Mediabrands agency UM as its media agency of record, following a competitive pitch. The account of the soft drink business, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company, has been with UM since March 2014, after it won the business from Ikon. The estimated ad spend for Coca Cola South Pacific was $15.9million according to Source Nielsen Ad Intel, from December 2017 - January 2019. However, it's thought to be closer to $20 million.

Allianz
Allianz has appointed The General Store as its agency of record, taking over from WolfKing. The appointment makes it the fourth agency the insurance company has worked with in just over three years. Both The General Store and WolfKing confirmed the appointment to AdNews. In January 2017 Allianz appointed Cummins&Partners, ending its long-running relationship with MercerBell, as it moved to a rostered approach to creative duties. Mercerbell, which was behind the award-winning “Ahh...llianz” tagline, declined to repitch for the account at the time.

Nissan Australia
Mood Media Australia has been appointed as Nissan Australia’s multimedia experience agency following a competitive pitch. The agency will provide Nissan with its digital sight and sound solutions in all of the refurbished Dealerships nationally, including creating a branded atmosphere through radio and digital screens. The partnership marks the first time Nissan has deployed a consistent digital sight and sound customer experience across each of its Australian dealerships. The infrastructure will be installed across the network by 2022, with 20 expected to be in place within the next few months.

PPG Industries
Global paint and coatings giant PPG Industries has appointed Spark Foundry to manage its media account for its Australian portfolio of architectural brands. The brands included in the remit are Taubmans, White Knight, Johnstone's and Bristol. The account was previously held by UM. The agency was awarded the strategic, planning and buying duties for PPG Industries following a competitive pitch process, with the account managed out of Spark's Melbourne office. With ANZ headquarters in Clayton, Melbourne, PPG operates in more than 70 countries and works in the construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets and aftermarkets.

Total Tools
Media Merchants have been appointed as the agency of record for Australia’s largest independent tool retailer, Total Tools. The agency was selected following a competitive tender and is responsible for media strategy, planning, buying and implementation across Australia. Media Merchants says its "strategic approach" to the brief and full service offering "set them apart" from the tendering agencies. The win follows Media Merchants recent appointment of former Ikon Brisbane MD Chris Ernst to the executive team in the role of commercial director.

McWilliam's Wines Group
The McWilliam’s Wines Group has appointed independent boutique agency Dialogue PR and strategic brand consultancy Molasses to support the company’s strategic communication and brand design efforts across its growing portfolio of owned and distributor wine brands. Sydney-based Dialogue PR will be responsible for story ideation, communications strategy, content development and media relations, and support client in-house brand teams with idea generation and media outreach. Molasses has also been appointed by McWilliam’s as a strategic brand design partner.

B&D Group
DDB Melbourne has won the digital account for B&D Group - Garage Doors & Secure Access Systems. The agency will lead the garage door manufacturer's integrated digital strategy and development including SEO, website content and user experience. The appointment sees DDB expand its remit within the Dulux Group with the agency also working with British Paints, Selleys and Dulux brand.

Avery and Häcker Kitchen
Integrated communications firm, Daylight Agency, has been appointed agency of record for self-adhesive label manufacturer, Avery, and selected by Häcker Kitchen to launch the luxury, German-kitchen manufacturer into the Australian market. The Avery win follows a competitive pitch and will see Daylight Agency manage Avery’s brand strategy and the development a new creative campaign. Daylight will undertake all elements of production and work with media partner, PMA, on the media buy. Häcker Kitchen has appointed Daylight Agency to introduce the brand into Australia and build its profile among consumers and trade. The initial phase of this campaign will kick off with the opening of Häcker Kitchen’s first showroom in Drummoyne.
