Pitch Wrap: AICD, Airtasker, New Balance, Backr

It’s hard to keep track of the account wins and losses across the industry. To help you keep on top of who has what, here’s a wrap of the pitches from the week.

Australian Institute of Company Directors
The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) has appointed Havas Media after a four-way pitch. The account, which went in-house during the pandemic (previously held by Initiative which didn't take part in the latest pitch), includes media and digital plans for the AICD brand and performance campaigns.

Airtasker
PR and social agency One Green Bean (ogb) has welcomed Airtasker to its client portfolio. Airtasker is the community marketplace that connects people who need work done with people who want to work. Following a three-way pitch, Airtasker appointed ogb to support its growth plans in Australia and NZ.

New Balance
New Balance has appointed Mango Communications as its PR agency of record across Australia and New Zealand following a competitive pitch. Mango Communications, part of DDB Group, will now lead all earned media relations including influencer and ambassador management for New Balance as the athletic brand prepares for exciting new launches in 2021.

Backr
Specialist digital marketing and media consultancy Mindbox has bolstered its financial technology client roster after being enlisted for its specialist digital services by rising Australian technology business, Backr. Mindbox has been charged with managing all digital media, strategy across Backr’s services, helping to drive engagement through technology and thinking.

Gold Coast Film Festival, vEEF, fieldd
Gold Coast Film Festival has appointed Red Havas Brisbane to develop a creative campaign to raise awareness and drive box office sales for their annual event, as it makes a comeback after its cancellation in 2020. The team has also expanded its consumer brand portfolio, winning a competitive pitch for vEEF by Fenn Foods. Red was selected as the communications agency to shine a spotlight on the sustainability endeavours behind plant-based food products, including their launch of the world’s first carbon neutral mince. New technology brand fieldd has enlisted the services of Red Havas Brisbane to raise awareness of its innovative software platform built to 'Uber-fy' mobile, service-based businesses. The remit includes the development of an integrated PR strategy that aims to establish a strong brand voice in market and start conversations with potential investors.
