Seven's MKR delivers biggest audience of season

More than 1.4 million metropolitan viewers tuned in to watch MKR's Tyson and Amy register the highest score in the show's history, breaking a record that stood for just 24 hours. The pair, portrayed as villains and 'serious siblings', proved they were masters in the kitchen, scoring 102 out of 110 points. The next most watched entertainment show was Married At First Sight, which had 920,000 metro viewers. Other entertainment shows that rated well include Seven's Home and Away (771,000), 800 Words (737,000) and Ten's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here (737,000). Seven's primary channel won the night with a 23% audience share to Nine's 19.5%.

Radio ad revenue up in January

Metropolitan commercial radio stations reported modest growth in advertising revenue of 0.85% in the month of January 2017 to a total of $50.551 million, according to figures sourced by Deloitte and released by Commercial Radio Australia. The figures follow growth of 6.75% in the month of December, for total annual growth of 4.04% to $779.960 million for calendar year 2016. Chief executive officer of CRA Joan Warner says although there has been a slower start to 2017, the industry has been 'remarkably resilient'.

Xaxis co-founder appointed as global Sizmek CEO

Neil Nguyen is leaving his position of CEO and president of Sizmek having spent 13 years in he company. As a result, Dr. Mark Grether has been appointed as executive chairman by Sizmek's board of directors. Grether previously worked as co-founder and global chief operating officer of WPP's Xaxis where he liaised with a variety of large brands across industry verticals including automotive, retail and CPG. Prior to this, Grether held the position of global development director of GroupM.

Pandora media review decision imminent

Music streaming company Pandora expects to conclude a review of its agency supplier partnerships imminently. It's unclear if Pandora's media agency Bohemia is taking part in the pitch process. In a statement, Pandora said: "Following substantial growth in the Australian market and the transition to new, exciting business models such as on-demand, Pandora will review its supplier partnerships to ensure successful in-market activity and implementation. The review is well under way and an announcement is due shortly." Pandora spent $2 million on media in the past year, according to Nielsen AIS.
