WeThinkMedia secures New York Times contract

The New York Times Company has appointed WeThinkMedia as its agency of representation in Australia, looking after its advertising in the local market. The new deal will be overseen by The New York Times' VP advertising APAC, Tom Armstrong. WeThinkMedia, started by former Nine executive Peter Wiltshire, will be responsible for all advertising, including print, digital, branded content, programmatic and events. For branded content opportunities, the representation agency will have the support of T Brand Studio International, The New York Times Company’s marketing service agency.

APN Outdoor appoints Shoebridge Media Group

APN Outdoor has appointed Shoebridge Media Group to manage its in-house communications. Shoebridge, the outgoing Ten head of corporate communications, will operate the company's in-house communications unit three days a week, effective late May. Shoebridge announced he would leave his role at Ten to launch the media consultancy. He had led Ten’s corporate communications for the past six years and was previously the media and marketing editor at the AFR for almost a decade. He formally leaves Ten on 25 May but will continue to work with the company as a consultant.

Fetch TV and BBC Studios launch new channel

Fetch TV and BBC Studios have launched a new lifestyle channel - BBC Living. From 1 May, BBC Living will be available in the Fetch Knowledge and Ultimate packages. The channel will broadcast British lifestyle content centred around food, home and good living and will be programmed exclusively for the Australian market. It will join five other BBC channels on the Fetch platform - BBC First, BBC Knowledge, BBC UKTV, BBC CBeebies and BBC World News.
