Allure Media invests in brand partnerships division

Allure Media has hired Ali Krzyszton as a partnerships director, heading up the Lifestyle division at the business. Krzyszton has 15 years of experience in media and advertising and joins Allure Media after a year-long contract at MCN as a group digital manager, and four years in strategy and content at Bauer Media. Allure’s chief revenue officer Sarah Wyse says the senior hire will deliver on its ambitious growth plans in the brand partnerships arena for 2017. She says the decision to focus on long-term partners, as opposed to quick clicks, is very much a metric it’s focused on as business. She says as it sees the sanctity and cut-through of content becoming more diluted, audiences are losing trust in digital publishers – which is something Allure is aggressively addressing.

YouTube extravaganza attracts English legend

It’s upfronts season again and just as the major TV networks showcase their wares for the upcoming year, so too does Google, at it’s annual ‘Brandcast’ marketing event. In years gone by the glitzy night of entertainment not only wows a packed out room of media execs with it’s content slate and YouTube offering, but guests also get to see a top notch music act. Empire of The Sun got crowds moving in 2015; Iggy Azalea in 2016 and now, AdNews understands that tomorrow night’s showcase will feature English singer, pianist and composer, Sir Elton John. Keep an eye on AdNews Australia’s Twitter handle, Snapchat and Instagram accounts for live updates. The upfronts see media buyers lock down deals with advertisers for the year ahead. MCN’s upfronts have kicked off and next up is Channel Nine.

Ten staff supported CBS bid over Murdoch/Gordon

Network Ten staff did not want Lachlan Murdoch and Bruce Gordon to gain control of the network, according The Australian Financial Review. The paper says sources associated with Ten say the broadcaster's staff supported the CBS bid more so as they were concerned there would be redundancies under their ownership, as opposed to CBS.
