Ben Maudsley joins Amplifi as head of commercial
After several years at ad tech firm Exponential, Ben Maudsley has left his role as managing director APAC and South Africa for a job media agency side, as head of commercial at Dentsu Aegis Network's investment unit Amplifi, AdNews can reveal. He will work alongside Amplifi’s chief commercial officer, Alex Pekish, and trading team. Maudsley joined the sub-organisation of Exponential, Tribal Fusion, in 2010 before moving to Exponential as country manager in 2010. After more than four years as GM, in 2014 he was promoted to the MD role. Melbourne-based Maudsley's hire follows several reshuffles at Amplifi. Adrian Roeling was appointed president of Amplifi in November, with other recent senior appointments including Alex Pekish’s promotion to chief commercial officer and Ashley Earnshaw’s appointment to chief investment officer.

Snap Inc reports fourth quarter and full year 2017 results
Snapchat's Q4 financial results for the quarter ended 30 September 2017 have beat analyst expectations. Revenue was US$285.7 million, up 72% year-over-year. It also added 8.9 million daily active users to hit 187 million. It lost US$350 million compared to US$440 million last quarter. In after-hours trading, shares were up 26% following the earnings release before settling at 19% up. In January Snapchat finally rolled out the update to its app and users were not happy about the changes, with some begging for the photo sharing platform to reverse the move. The redesign will reach all users during Q1 2018. According to TechCrunch it was due to be fully rolled out by now, but there's been a delay following poor reception in countries like the UK and Australia. See full results here.
