Adland is full of big moves at the moment. Here are the movers and shakers of this week:

Paul Fisher back at IAB to help reel in new CEO

Former IAB CEO Paul Fisher, who steered the ship before current CEO Alice Manners, is back working at the organisation as a consultant, as it starts the recruitment process to fill her spot. The IAB confirmed to AdNews that Fisher has been engaged as consultant to the board, on a contract basis, while it recruits for a new CEO. John Steedman to join merged WPP/STW board

Veteran adman, and former CEO and executive chairman of GroupM John Steedman is likely to join the board of the combined WPP/STW entity, if the merger is approved by a shareholder vote. Steedman left GroupM in June last year, noting it was “time to hand the baton on to the next generation of leaders”. Read more here.

Toshiba ANZ marketing chief exits

Toshiba ANZ head of marketing and communications Mariana Thomas has exited her role for a new position at global flooring company Tarkett. Thomas will fulfil the same role for the new company, taking on marketing and communications for the firm which has an ANZ office in north west Sydney. Read more here.

Mark Forbes appointed editor-in-chief of the Age

Mark Forbes has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of The Age and The Sunday Age, effective immediately.

Forbes was previously The Age’s News Director for three years, performing the role of operational leader of the newsroom and responsible for content across all print and digital platforms. Prior to that role, Forbes was Editor of the The Sunday Age and has also worked with Channel Seven and Four Corners.

He replaces Andrew Holden, who departed earlier this year in a shift towards prioritising digital roles over print roles.

Paul Brooks promoted to president of Amplifi ANZ

Dentsu Aegis has promoted Paul Brooks to the role of ANZ President of the group's investment arm Amplifi. The new role will see Brooks work directly on the large media investments of Dentsu Aegis Network clients across all ANZ business.

Dentsu's Crook promoted to strategy lead

The Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) has promoted Matthew Crook to the role of chief strategy officer and CEO Performance and Data, DAN ANZ. Crook's new role sees him charged with working in conjunction with DAN ANZ CEO, Simon Ryan, on group strategic priorities and direction whilst maintaining his management across programmatic, performance, content and analytics for DAN.

Peta Credlin joins Sky News

Former chief of staff to Tony Abbott, Peta Credlin will be joining Sky News as an election commentator ahead of the upcoming election. Credlin confirmed to News Corp that she would be joining the news organisation along with a number of other commentators including controversial figure Andrew Bolt who joined recently.

Pocketmath names GM

Pocketmath has confirmed that Jono Smith has been named general manager for the expanded region of Japan, Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. Based in Melbourne, Smith will be responsible for strategic growth, revenue and team development across the region.

Smith joined Pocketmath in September 2015 from Amobee, where he was national sales director.

Sophie Monk joins ARN for integration role

Presenter Sophie Monk is joining ARN for a new role working across integration and content projects on the Kiis Network. The new commercial role for Monk follows her recently hosting the Summer Fling program with Matty Acton during December.

Tonagh joins Ten board

New Foxtel CEO Peter Tonagh has been appointed board member of Ten Network. Tonagh joins the Ten board as a representative of Foxtel, a position that was held by Richard Freudenstein, who Tonagh replaced. Tonagh was appointed Foxtel CEO on 17 March 2016.
