Ben Sharp resurfaces at Pure Profile

Ben Sharp has joined people-based marketing company Pure Profile as its head of revenue and operations ANZ. In the new role, Sharp will oversee the sales process from business development to delivery with a focus on simplifying product offering across all business units. He will commence the new role on 24 July. Most recently, Sharp exited as MD of Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) after just two weeks with the organisation. Read more.

The Works bolsters senior leadership team

The Works has added to its senior leadership team with the promotion of Nathan Bilton to the role of creative partner. Bilton, who has been at The Works for ten years, started as a copywriter, joining after completing AWARD School, later becoming creative lead. As creative partner, Bilton will lead the News Corp business in addition to working with other clients across the agency. Bilton said: “The partners, Kevin, Damian and Douglas, took a bit of a chance on someone with negligible advertising experience. Hopefully, I’ve repaid their gamble. I’ve been lucky to work with, and learn from, some great people at both The Works and via our clients and I'm looking forward to big things with News." Rohan Mehrotra joins Programmatic Media Managed Services

Virginia Hyland, founder of Programmatic Media Managed Services has appointed Rohan Mehrotra as the company's general managed. “I am thrilled that such a strong industry leader within the digital and programmatic space has joined Programmatic Media consultancy to lead the managed services team. Rohan is a well respected leader within the programmatic field. He has over 14 years in digital & programmatic advertising expertise" Hyland said. Interbrand Australia announces MD and ECD appointments

Interbrand Australia has promoted Davy Rennie to managing director and Ben Miles to ECD. The moves follow multiple new wins to its client roster including Bega, University of Sydney, Staywell Group, News Corp, LJ Hooker and Daydream Island, in addition to continued work with long term partners like Telstra, The Star and Cotton On Group. Rennie moves from experience director to MD, after working closely with CEO Nathan Birch over the past six months to grow the business. Rennie will continue to lead Interbrand’s delivery of global branding and innovative experience strategies across both customers and employees. Y&R managing partner Julian Bell exits for Clemenger

Y&R Melbourne managing partner Julian Bell has exited the business after 11 years to return to Clemenger Melbourne. Bell previously worked at Clemenger Melbourne in the early stages of his career as an account manager before moving to London to work at Y&R London and later, AMV BBDO. He returned to Australia in 2007, joining Y&R as an account director and working his way up the ranks to become managing partner in 2014. Read more.

Ex-Publicis boss Andrew Baxter joins KPMG marketing advisory

Former Publicis Communications chairman and Publicis Australia CEO, Andrew Baxter, has joined KPMG Australia as senior adviser to the firm’s Customer, Brand and Marketing Advisory (CBMA) business. In the new role, commencing later this year, Baxter will advise CBMA clients on areas of brand and customer experience, as well as support the CBMA leadership team in further growth and development. The ex-Publicis exec left the group at the end of March. He had been with the network since 2014, joining Publicis Worldwide ANZ as its CEO before being promoted to chairman in February 2017. Ikon Communications appoints new agency director for Melbourne team

Ikon Communications has appointed Melissa Roberts as agency director for Ikon Melbourne. Roberts will report directly to CEO Lesley Edwards and will take a key position on Ikon’s national leadership team. Edwards said she was delighted Roberts has decided to re-join the Ikon team to lead its Melbourne office. Previously Country Lead, ANZ with children’s advertising platform, Totally Awesome, Roberts' career spans 20+ years both globally and nationally, running advertising, digital and full-service agencies, with a strong in leadership, business and broad multi-discipline agency knowledge to her new role.

whiteGREY boosts tech capabilities, appoints Juan Garcia as head of technology

WhiteGREY has appointed Juan Garcia as Head of Technology, boosting the agency’s digital capabilities. Lee Simpson, CEO whiteGREY, said this is a "pivotal role" on the exec team of the agency with responsibility for leading a team of creatives and practitioners, delivering creative technology solutions across a range of clients. Most recently with Deepend as head of technology, Garcia is originally from Spain with experience in London, San Francisco and Sydney, leading in-house and co-located development teams. He now boasts over 15 years of experience, specialising in lean software development and data-driven applications with a focus on delivering personalised customer experiences.
