Interbrand Australia announces MD and ECD appointments

Interbrand Australia has promoted Davy Rennie to managing director and Ben Miles to ECD. The moves follow multiple new wins to its client roster including Bega, University of Sydney, Staywell Group, News Corp, LJ Hooker and Daydream Island, in addition to continued work with long term partners like Telstra, The Star and Cotton On Group. Rennie moves from experience director to MD, after working closely with CEO Nathan Birch over the past six months to grow the business. Rennie will continue to lead Interbrand’s delivery of global branding and innovative experience strategies across both customers and employees.

The Trade Desk's new wave of digital advertising

Global ad tech firm The Trade Desk has launched a new range of products that will help advertisers “more effectively than ever before”, plan, forecast and buy digital media. Referred to as the 'Next Wave', today it has unveiled three new products. The first, Koa, is an AI too forecasting engine built on The Trade Desk’s data set; the second is The Trade Desk Planner, a data-driven media planning tool that gives audience insights and informs ad strategies across channels and devices and the third is Megagon, a new user interface that proactively surfaces tailored insights and offers Koa recommendations to help advertisers make real-time optimisation decisions. CEO and founder of The Trade Desk Jeff Green says it is giving agencies and brands more control and power and that this “truly is the next wave of digital advertising”. See more here.

SugarCRM appoints Jaywing for global digital marketing, brand, creative and PR

Global customer relationship management (CRM) brand SugarCRM has consolidated its digital marketing and creative duties, appointing Jaywing Australia to manage its business in key markets around the world, following a multi-agency competitive pitch, which included both US and global agencies. Jaywing Australia previously managed paid search and creative for SugarCRM in APAC, leading to Jaywing in the UK managing paid search in EMEA. Jaywing will manage SugarCRM’s account from North Sydney and its UK offices. The business recently acquired Frank Digital, which works with clients including Merivale, Bauer Media, City of Sydney and CanTeen.

Search Insights acquired by 121Group

Independent e-commerce digital marketing agency Search Insights has been acquired by digital solutions company 121Group. Financial terms of the deal have not been released but will give Search Insights an above seven figure valuation. 121Group stated that the move to acquire Search Insights is part of its strategy to deepen its service offering to its existing client base of 1358 businesses. The move will see the skill set and services of Search Insights deployed across new markets and geographic regions at scale. The agency’s current client list consists of Sydney Royal Easter Show, Napoleon Perdis, Pharmacare, Mad Mex, Primary Health Care, Bailey Nelson, and The Upside. Last month Search Insights opened a Melbourne office and has already grown to five full-time staff with clients including Tiger Mist, Marrimekko, Victoria & Woods, Milligram and Walnut Shoes.
