Bastion Experience appoints James Bartold as group director

Bastion Experience has appointed James Bartold to a newly-created, group director brand partnerships role. Bartold joins the strategic partnership, brand and experiential agency in a national role from the North Melbourne Football Club where he was head of sponsorship, events and commercial strategy. Bastion Experience CEO Matt McCann says brands are embracing live events and partnerships: “It’s been amazing to see the passion and interest from the industry in brand partnerships as we emerge from 2021.” 

Katie Firth appointed managing partner at DDB Group Melbourne

Firth moves from whiteGREY, where she was national managing director and a WPP AUNZ Melbourne market lead. She will join DDB Melbourne in November and says she is looking forward to working with DDB Group Melbourne MD Mike Napolitano and the team to continue to grow the agency: "DDB wants the same thing as I do: to make the best and most impactful work that makes our clients famous."

Former Publicis CEO Andrew Baxter joins Hypetap’s board

Australian influencer marketing agency Hypetap appointed Andrew Baxter as a non-executive director. He joins Hypetap chief executive Detch Singh, CTO Dhruv Singh, former CEO of Mindshare Australia John Petropoulos, and former Havas executive chairman Mike Wilson on the board. Baxter says “Hypetap have built a terrific, sustainable and scalable business, and I’m looking forward to supporting them as they continue to grow".

Susan Lyons is Khemistry's inaugural executive strategy director

Susan Lyons joined behaviour change creative agency Khemistry three months after Brent Liebenberg’s appointment as its first ECD. Before Khemistry, Susan was executive strategy director at Brisbane-based Publicis Worldwide. She also brings experience from CHE Proximity, PwC and Clemenger BBDO.

Andie Killeen spearheads MiQ’s expansion into South Australia

MiQ appointed Andie Killeen senior sales manager SA, realising its ambition to service all five capital markets with local resources in Australia. Killeen says MiQ is already gaining momentum in the SA market: “Combining my own knowledge and local market experience, with the people and tech at MiQ, I can’t wait to accelerate clients’ success by delivering tangible results underpinned with powerful data insights.”

GAMURS nabs Kotaku editor

GAMURS Group, the esports and entertainment media network that reaches more than 100 million gamers globally each month, announced the appointment of Alex Walker as vice president of content for the Asia Pacific region. Walker joins GAMURS after more than six years at Allure Media and Nine's Pedestrian Group where he was editor of Kotaku Australia. Walker says GAMURS understands esports and video games: "The company shares my vision for the potential for esports and the broader video game market, and I'm excited to see what we can build together."

Nicole Craig joins The MINT Partners as senior account director

Integrated brand and communications agency The MINT Partners appointed luxury brand specialist Nicole Craig to work on MINT’s lifestyle, fashion and travel portfolio. Craig brings high-level, integrated marketing experience and strong communications strategy, partnership marketing, influencer and ambassador management across paid earned and owed channels. Agency MD Brett Galvin says: “Nicole’s credentials are outstanding, she holds long-term client and industry relationships, a strong affinity with the luxury market and a demonstrated track record for delivering valued results. Her strategic and results-driven skills will enhance our client results and future direction for the agency".
