The Sydney office of French outdoor media giant JCDecaux has closed after a staff member came into close contact with someone who has the coronavirus.

The employee worked in JCDecaux’s York Street office Monday to Wednesday this week

"The employee has self-isolated, is showing no symptoms and is awaiting the results of the test for the virus," says a JCDecaux spokesperson.

"As a precautionary measure, JCDecaux’s York Street office will be closed until the results of the test come back.

"The business is still operating, with staff working remotely."

More than 200 staff work at the Sydney office.

ViacomCBS's office in Darlinghurst, which houses Nickelodeon and MTV, has also closed as a precaution.

A spokesperson says staff have been informed of an employee’s potential exposure to the coronavirus.

"This individual has not been diagnosed with the virus and is currently seeking medical advice," the spokesperson says.

“The safety and well-being of staff is the company’s number one priority. Therefore, as a precaution, ViacomCBS has temporarily closed its Darlinghurst office and instructed all employees to work remotely until further information is available.”

Both OMD and Foxtel Media offices closed late last week, reopening earlier this week in as a precautionary measure after exposure to a suspected case of coronavirus. Testing came back as negative and staff at both companies are back in the offices

The London office of OMD was also shut but has since reopened.

Omnicom has postponed global travel to or from China, Japan, Hong Kong, Iran, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, or Northern Italy.

Dentsu in Japan also shut its office after an employee tested positive to the coronavirus.
