Marcelle Gomez has been promoted to managing director of Initiative Sydney, filling a leadership position that had remained vacant for two years.

Gomez, who was national chief implementation and investment officer of Initiative Australia, begins her new role with immediate effect.

She has worked within the IPG Mediabrands Australia for the past six years and is a former group director at UM. She has also been general manager of Mediabrands' investment and intelligence business Magna Global.

“Marcelle will be an amazing leader for our Sydney business. She cares hugely about our clients, the work and our people," says Initiative Australia CEO Lee Leggett. "And I’m delighted that we have made this appointment from within Initiative, as Marcelle knows our business extremely well and will accelerate our progress."

Gomez's appointment is the third senior position this week after Geoff Clarke was named Initiative Australia COO and Hannah Rook became national head of digital.
