Ikon Communications' head of tech and innovation is set for a move stateside to head up a division in TubeMogul US, AdNews understands.

While nothing official has been announced, AdNews understands that Phillip Cowlishaw, who has been at Ikon for more than five years, will leave his Sydney-based role next month.

In his current role Cowlishaw provides “the latest vision and thinking in the ways that Ikon clients connect their brands to new and existing customers, by leveraging technological innovations within the digital media landscape.”

It is thought Cowlishaw, who was head of media operations at Blue Barracuda from 2006-2009, will join digital video advertising software platform TubeMogul in one of its US offices and that he will be heading up a specific division there.

TubeMogul which last year struck a deal with Foxtel to use its programmatic software to bring the TV network's video advertising operations in-house, is also making waves in programmatic TV – and soon, programmatic radio.

Ikon has had a few job shuffles so far this year. Back at the beginning of January Ikon Communications CEO James Greet left the company after 18 months in the job, and Pat Crowley was promoted to managing partner of its Sydney office.
