Howatson+Company has made six redundancies in its media team following the loss of Honda’s automotive creative account to Special.
The cuts only apply to media staff working on the Honda business, with all creative team members from the account being redeployed.
Honda represented less than 5% of the agency's revenue.
The changes come as Howatson+Company undergoes a broader leadership transition.
The agency has appointed Katherine Chen as chief client officer and former M&C Saatchi Sydney creative director Chris Cheesman group creative director.
These senior hires follow the departure of executive creative director Jeremy Hogg, who joined M&C Saatchi Group ANZ as national executive creative director and chief experience officer Nicole Flinton Ferraro, who is expected to finish in the first quarter of 2026.
Despite the Honda-related redundancies, the agency increased its staff numbers by 64 people overall this year.
The agency also secured a number of new accounts in 2025, including Vodaphone and the ABN Group.
