Family, friends and food are the focus of the latest Coles Christmas ad with celebrity chef Curtis Stone also making an appearance.

The 30-second ad follows a traditional Australian holiday outdoor lunch complete with prawns, pavlova and turkey.

Set to the Coles staff singing a Merry Christmas, the ad starts with a family gathering at home and sharing gifts.

It's the last of the big supermarkets to release its Christmas campaign following Aldi's lead with its blockbuster ad and Woolworths' TV ad last week also focusing on the simple joys of Christmas.

Also part of its Christmas push, the supermarket released an 'Australian first' with its biggest Christmas food range.

It includes 150 products such as the traditional ham topped with crispy crackling and sausage rolls shaped in a Christmas wreath.

Big Red is Coles creative agency of record. OMD is the brand's media agency.
