APN News & Media has undergone a shake-up that sees Australian Radio Network CEO Tony Kendall take on a newly created role as APN group chief revenue officer.

Kendall has been in the role for just over 18 months, joining from Bauer Media where has was the director of sales. He is replaced by Adshel CEO Rob Atkinson, who has been at the outdoor company for five years.

Mike Tyquin will replace Atkinson as CEO of Adshel, promoted from his role as chief commercial officer. He has been at the company since 2014.

The moves follow APN's $268m acquisition of Adshel last year.

“The appointments are crucial to our future growth and will ensure we can meet the challenges of the competitive and evolving media environment,” APN CEO Ciaran Davis says.

“In this newly-created role of APN chief revenue officer, Kendall will be responsible for leading and driving integrated group revenue across all of APN’s assets, and delivering tier one solutions to our customers. Tony’s extensive history across several sectors in media both in Australia and overseas makes him the perfect choice to lead this new division within the Group.

“We are very pleased to have Atkinson move across to CEO of ARN. His experience at Clear Channel UK and five subsequent years at Adshel have given him the skills and experience to lead ARN into its next phase of growth as a multi-platform entertainment company."

The appointments will take effect from the beginning of April.
