Adshel has formally appointed Rob Atkinson as chief executive, following a period as interim chief of the company.

Atkinson was given the role of interim CEO in November last year after the departure of Steve McCarthy.

Atkinson was on secondment from his role as chief operating officer for Clear Channel UK, but will now remain in the Australian role.

He reports to both Clear Channel International regional president Asia Pacific Mark Thewlis and APN News and Media group radio and outdoor chief executive Richard Herring.

Thewlis said, “I am excited to have Rob on board at Adshel permanently as he not only brings a wealth of experience from the UK business, but also is a great cultural fit for Adshel. In the short time he has been here he has already had a positive impact on both the people and the business’ potential for further growth.”

Atkinson said, “I’ve really enjoyed the last five months at Adshel, from the warm welcome I received to the dynamic working environment and the opportunities a robust and growing outdoor market afford the business. I am excited by the opportunity to lead a highly talented team to even greater success going forward.”

Adshel is a joint venture between APN News & Media and Clear Channel.
