Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the ANA-4A’s Joint Policy Committee on Broadcast Talent Union Relations (JPC) have reached a tentative agreement with the advertising industry in New York, including Droga5, over its contracts and employment practices.

The agreement – which will not be publicly revealed until it has been ratified by both union's members – comes off the back of a particularly loud crusade which saw SAG-AFTRA protest on Droga5’s doorstep in January and a highly-targeted press campaign, which highlighted claims of exploitation and unfair pay against the agency.

SAG-AFTRA negotiating committee co-chair Sue-Anne Morrow said the agreement achieved the best possible result for members.

“Our negotiating committee was made up of working commercial performers from all over the country and we secured significant financial gains that will benefit our members right now,” she says.

“Equally important, we achieved creative new elements that make our contract more relevant in a rapidly changing industry and guarantee the expansion of work opportunities for our members.”

Formal negotiations between the 33 member SAG-AFTRA negotiating committee and the industry began on February 17 and concluded on April 3 in New York.
