Car brand Audi, part of the Volkswagen Group, has named 303Lowe is its new creative agency of record.

AdNews reported yesterday that two agencies were in the running for the car brand's account, with Audi talking to incumbent DDB RAPP and 303Lowe about its agency arrangements.

Audi had confirmed previously to AdNews that it was “testing the market” but had not called a formal pitch.

The decision follows the recent announcement by Audi that it has retained its digital agency Holler for another three years. The car brand also works with MediaCom on media.

RAPP last had to pitch for the account in October 2013 where it was also up against 303Lowe and Host. The Volkswagen Group also recently underwent a lengthy pitch process for its VW passenger vehicles, Volkswagen commercial vehicle and its Skoda brand, which saw incumbent agency DDB retained.

Globally, VW's account is held by DDB in a long-running relationship which has spanned nearly 60 years.
