Quirky and quintessentially Swedish; the new campaign for Rekorderlig cuts through classic cider commercials.

Rekoderlig Cider has brought its Beautifully Swedish credentials to life with the launch of its first ever global brand campaign.

The ad, Silver Skaters, features a pair of unlikely bearded skaters who traverse across the beautiful Torneträsk Lake with surprising grace and poise for a couple of Swedish hipsters. Their evangelic coach watches on, singing a harrowing tune that is a traditional Swedish folk track.

The TV creative works across a multi-layered social campaign, launched on Instagram and Facebook - directly targeting their demographic of contemporary 18-34 year olds.

Chilli Marketing is responsible for Rekorderlig’s global marketing, working with London based advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi.

Chilli marketing manager Nikki Langford, says: “We’ve been bold enough to deliver a breathtaking creative and invest this primarily into social. We believe that our core audience is more likely to engage with the brand and our amazing content in this space.”

With the commercial receiving accolades internationally from the Epica Awards, Campaign Big Awards, Clio Awards, and Cannes Lions, Rekorderlig is hoping that it will be as well received in Australia.

Chilli Marketing managing director, Kieron Barton, says the cider category has become predictable for TV and this campaign stands to invigorate it and shift the focus to a more emotional one.

The commercial is currently being previewed at St.George OpenAir Cinema in Sydney and Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinemas in Canberra, Perth and Adelaide, before the campaign kicks off on Facebook and Instagram.
