KFC has turned to a fictional adman to take on the role of its mascot.

Vincent Kartheiser, better known as Pete Campbell on Mad Men, is donning the iconic white hair, goatee and sunglasses in his latest role as Colonel Sanders.

The fried-chicken chain has launched its new advertising campaign in which Kartheiser appears as heartthrob Nashville Hot Colonel.

You have to look carefully to find him in the first TV commercial – he appears throughout but on album covers, posters and other decorations in the bedroom of a teenage girl seemingly in love with the Hot Colonel and his tasty chicken.

In 2015, KFC embarked on a massive rebranding campaign, resurrecting the Colonel as the brand’s spokesperson. Of course the real Colonel was long gone, so the chain turned to actors and comedians to bring him back to life.
