In 1997, legendary British & Irish Lions coach Jim Telfer gave a monumental pre-game speech before the first match. ****ing monumental. "You have to do it. You have to do it." Telfer urged the players to conquer their Everest in taking on all comers in South Africa.

Ahead of the Lions heading to Australia 16 years later, Telfer gives a similar speech. But this time, it's for the fans. Blokes must conquer their own Everest if they want to follow their heroes down under. That Everest is The Missus.

"You never get to the top of Everest unless you grovel. You're prepared to beg. Take her Weet-Bix into bed for her. And watch every Jennifer Aniston movie with her," he warns the grimly nodding horde.

"You have to out argue them, out logic them, out guilt trip them, out silent treatment them UNTIL THEY ARE PHYSICALLY SICK OF IT!"

"Sure, remember the pledges you made to her, the times you've had together, but more importantly, remember the time you knocked her electric toothbrush down the loo. If she forgave you then, she'll forgive you again. Nobody will do it for you boys. You have to do it if you want to be on that Qantas plane."
