ZenithOptimedia has today announced the acquisition of search marketing consultancy FirstClick.

The marketing agency, which was founded in 2005, will re-brand to Performics Australia and will retain its current management team, with CEO Grace Chu at the helm. The agency will form part of ZenithOptimedia’s global performance marketing network, Performics Worldwide.

ZenithOptimedia say investing in performance marketing solutions – which includes measurable channels such as paid search, programmatic display and paid social - is a key growth strategy for the group.

Chu said the acquisition means clients will benefit from “global perspectives, best practices and capabilities that come with being part of this award winning international network. It’s a testament to the FirstClick team to be recognised as leaders within an international context."

CEO of ZenithOptimedia Australia, Ian Perrin, said: “We have been unequivocal in our pursuit of delivering the very best performance offering in Australia, and bringing FirstClick into the group represents a massive step in this direction. Grace and her team are world class and arguably the most talented digital performance thinkers in the country. The team will make an enormous contribution to our organisation and we look forward to welcoming them into the family.”

Earlier this year, ZenithOptimedia announced it would open its new global media network, Blue 449, in Australia in “the medium-term”, with 17 city hubs predicted by the end of the year.

The acquisition by Publicis Groupe of media agency Match Media for an undisclosed sum in June marked the launch of Blue 449 locally.
