Y&R Brisbane has appointed Maxus Malaysia managing director Glynn Honey as a managing partner, AdNews can reveal.

Honey, who led the Malaysia media agency for more than two years, will work alongside current GM Fiona Caird.

Honey has an extensive career in digital and was previously MD of M&C Saatchi’s digital agency, Mark. He was also the MD of Isobar back in 2009 and has led digital and media strategy for blue-chip clients, including Google, Optus, Commonwealth Bank, Red Bull, HSBC and Heineken.

“Glynn has an impressive blend of skills. He has extensive experience in customer engagement, data analytics, and media and brand strategy. Exactly what our clients require more of in today’s landscape,” Y&R ANZ CEO Phil McDonald says.

“With Glynn joining Fiona and ECD’s, Andrew Thompson and Brendan Greaney, we have a formidable leadership team that will continue to deliver the best thinking in the market to our clients.”

Honey says he looks forward to joining the most awarded creative agency in Brisbane.

“The vision, creativity, quality of thinking and authenticity of the people made the decision to join a no brainer. I can’t wait to start work with the team and hopefully add an extra element that both adds value for our clients and keeps Y&R in its position at the top of the pile,” he says.

The move follows the recent rebrand of the agency from GPY&R to Y&R as well as the appointment of creative veteran Paul Nagy in Y&R Sydney.
