Gawk has appointed Alex Anthony as group agency sales director for NSW & QLD, weeks after officially ending its eight year partnership with oOh!Media and bringing agency sales in-house.
Anthony joins Tim Stevenson, who leads agency sales for Victoria and South Australia, completing Gawk's national agency sales team.
Anthony was previously NSW sales director at VMO, where he progressed from account manager to group sales manager.
He was also named an OMA emerging leader and Media i NSW OOH person of the year.
Luke Course, director of Gawk, said the company hired Anthony to accelerate growth.
"We didn't hire Alex to maintain momentum. We hired him to multiply it," Course said.
Anthony said he was attracted by Gawk's ambition and regional focus.
"Gawk stands out for its ambition and its genuine belief in the power of regional OOH,” he said.
“The scale is meaningful, the growth is accelerating, and the opportunity to build something special is clear. It's an exciting next chapter and one I couldn't be more pumped to get stuck into.”
The company built a dedicated agency team led by Stevenson as group agency director, with Heidi Lawrie leading Victoria as agency sales director and group sales managers Mitchell Madeley, Khayam Jeffrey and Sam Liistro.
Gawk commands 80% of roadside OOH in regional Victoria, operates the largest digital billboard footprint in South Australia and is the second-biggest operator in regional NSW behind oOh!Media.
