Universal appoints international marketing director

Universal Music Australia (UMA) has named a new senior director of international marketing, appointing Ben Facey to the position.

Facey joins UMA from a role at Foxtel as head of marketing, music channels where he was responsible for strategy and profitability across Foxtel's music brands.

In his new role, effective on Monday, Facey will oversee the Australian campaigns of UMA's international artists. He will report jointly to UMA managing directors Michael Taylor and Darren Aboud.

In addition Facey, together with Taylor and Aboud, will co-manage the full UMA marketing team including strategy devlopment, breaking new international artists and watching for trends in the landscape.

Labels under Facey's remit will include Interscope, Republic, Island & Mercury US, Def Jam, Polydor, Island UK, Geffen, A&M and UMG Nashville.

Facey has extensive experience in marketing, publicity, promotions and events in both music and entertainment channels. He also held a preivous position at Warner Music as director promotions and publicity.
