Former out-of-home executive Tony Kendall has joined Australian Community Media (ACM) as chief revenue officer.

Kendall steps into the role after completing a three-month review of the business, which was acquired by Antony Catalano earlier this year.

Kendall previously worked at HT&E in the same role prior to being made redundant. He was also previously CEO of ARN.

Former Bauer CEO Nick Chan and former senior Fairfax Media executive Robert Whitehead also join ACM to work on its next phase of strategy.

“Together with the engagement of Nick Chan and Robert Whitehead this demonstrates the high calibre of people ACM is attracting,” Catalano says.

“Together we are now working to transform ACM into a modern media business with a strong focus on digital revenues.”

Kendall will focus on expanding ACM’s revenue streams and building up its sales team. As part of the changes, its sales operations in Melbourne will be brought in-house in January, ending its relationship with Brown Orr Fletcher Burrows.

In other appointments, former Domain commercial strategy director Paul Tyrrell will oversee trade and consumer marketing and Anna Hosking will join ACM from News Limited as commercial director for Victoria.
