Australian Community Media (ACM) has partnered with publisher Big Splash Media for a weekly travel insert, Explore.

Running every Saturday across 14 ACM-owned titles, including The Canberra Times, Newcastle Herald, The Courier and Bendigo Advertiser, the magazine will focus on travel and holiday.

Launch partners for Explore include Viking Cruises, Insight Vacations and View Hotels.

“This is an exciting initiative for ACM as Australia’s leading independent regional publisher and an unrivalled opportunity for our advertising partners to reach our highly engaged audiences in some of Australia’s most important population centres,” says ACM CEO Allen Williams.

Heading up the new title is Peter Lynch, a former travel publisher and executive editor at Fairfax Media, previous owners of ACM prior its merger with Nine.

The 16-page launch-edition over the weekend included actor Chris Hemsworth revealing his top holiday destinations.

ACM, formerly owned by Nine, was sold to Antony Catalano and Alex Waislitz’s Thorney Investment Group earlier this year.

In September, the media group launched Future Focus, which covers employment, education and lifestyle opportunities in regional areas.
