Nando's Australia head of brand & communications, Tom Blackburn, is departing after three and a half years, AdNews can reveal.

He will be joining Grill'd as head of NPD, customer and partnerships.

He spent almost 10 years at Clemenger BBDO, five of those at CHEP before the companies merged. He worked as CHEP's client partner.

"Super excited for the next challenge," Blackburn told AdNews.

"My time at Nando’s ANZ is wrapping up and it’s been a ride.

"We’ve pushed the brand to places it hadn’t been before. From record-high brand health to creating genuinely viral moments.

"We’ve fed global icons like Drake, Post Malone and Central Cee, showed up in culture, from music festivals to restaurant raves. Even shooting a music video in the process.

"More than anything, I’m proud of how we’ve transformed the way the brand shows up in this market. Bolder, more relevant, and connected to culture."

In June 2025, Kaimera won Nando's media account from M+C Saatchi's retired brand, Bohemia.

Sunday Gravy worked on Nando's creative campaign of 2023, titled 'Fiery times. Fired up flavour.'

Nando's Australia and Grill'd have been contacted for comment.
