It's that time of year again where an Australian icon sells the nation's "favourite pastime" – eating lamb.

This time the Meat and Livestock Association (MLA) and its creative agency The Monkeys appear to have taken the theme to the extreme, releasing what they call a “high octane” trailer for the ad.

The spot shows skilled army operatives preparing to bring rogue Australians home, so they don't have to “lamb alone”.

The ad is set to be released imminently, with the spot following the epic tale of a barbecue at Richie Benaud's house. Benaud passed away in April last year, with the 2015 spot being deemed one of the MLA's best ads because of his involvement.
