Sydney Opera House seeks new commercial partner

The Sydney Opera House is seeking a new principal partner, following a six-year collaboration with Samsung.

The iconic Sydney landmark published a tender this morning inviting organisation to submit their interest by 10 May.

The Opera House is looking for a new partner that will help it deliver on its new strategy ahead of its 50th anniversary.

“After a successful six-year collaboration with Samsung, the Opera House is seeking a principal partner to help achieve its vision and mission in the lead-up to its 50th anniversary and beyond,” it said in a statement.

“As the Opera House’s greatest private contributor, the principal partner will be committed to working collaboratively with us to deepen and broaden our connection with the community and sustain the excellence and ambition of our artistic and cultural offering.”

The selection criteria applicants must meet includes building a contemporary and innovative concept that enhances the Opera House, recognising opportunities for collaboration, and aligning with and advancing the Opera House’s brand and reputation.

Successful applicants must also respect its heritage and responsibility to conserve the Opera House for future generations and deliver an “appropriate” level of financial support.

A shortlist with be selected to move through the second stage with all applicants notified on 31 May.
